Looking ahead to 2017 and beyond

I haven’t always been keen on the whole “New Year’s Resolutions” thing. There are many goals that I have had in the past (and some that I still have – keep on reading!) that are not cyclical with single calendar years. Rather, they span numerous years or are set partway through any given year. To me, goals are something to work towards in an effort to realize achievement, and they can be set at any time of the year, not just on every January 1st. If your New Year’s resolutions are how you do your goals, power to you and that’s fantastic. Keep on doing you.

Currently, one of my main goals (that occupies much of my time – special shout out to my non-accounting friends who put up with loads of accounting talk) is becoming a (Canadian) CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant). This goal started when I decided to pursue an accounting career during my Bachelor of Commerce degree at UBC, so a couple years ago. It won’t even be possible for it to be completed by the end of 2017 simply because I won’t have worked for the required number of months to be even eligible for this designation. In other words, this goal goes well into 2018. You see my point? Lol.

Anyways, today’s outfit is a twirly one! I love how cream or light coloured dresses just scream “classy.” And these heels are on sale for nearly 40% off! They’re a really comfortable heel height and I love how jazzy they are with the addition of the embellishment across the front. And they’re the color of red wine. Enough said.

Can we talk about this snow today? Absolutely crazy how much snow Vancouver has gotten this winter. I am LOVING frolicking in it. It’s been a pretty big contrast arriving back from sunny and hot Mexico…

Keep on killing it at work. Keep on supporting your family and friends with their goals. Keep on travelling and seeing the world. Most importantly, keep on doing what makes you happy. Wishing you all the best for the start of 2017.
